Mahagonny Songspiel streaming from La Scala 3/18

Tomorrow, Teatro alla Scala in Milan is streaming a duo of operas from Kurt Weill. First up is Die Sieben Todsünden, then Mahagonny Songspiel. These performances will be available on Thursday, March 18th at 8 pm CET. You can find the livestream here.

Mahagonny Songspiel debuted in 1927. This scenic cantata is a collection of songs that later became the foundation for Weill’s 1929 opera, Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny. Mahagonny Songspiel features the alto saxophone.
